I was actually looking to get libstdc++so5 installed on ubuntu 10.04 as it is required for Symantex Backup Exec remote agent RALUS and without it the agent will not start! My preliminary test indicates that the Intel compiler is about 10% faster than gfortran for a fairly CPU intensive calculation, without the MKL.
